HEY I THOUGHT THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL. http://www.obesityhelp.com/sendover.phtml?N=http://www.instonenutrition.com/products/pudding.htm
When I saw the nurse practitioner last week, she gave me some good ideas for increasing protein without necessarily increasing quantity of what I was eating.
For example, I start every day with an Unjury strawberry shake--when mixed with milk, it gives 29 grams of protein. She suggested adding an additional half scoop, whi*****reases it to almost 40 grams. And it doesn't change the texture of the shake.
She also suggested switching out one of my beverages in the afternoon (say Crystal Light) with some protein, so I have some of the drink and also have been taking a packet of protein chicken boullion soup along, which gives me 8 oz of fluid plus an additional 15 grams of protein. Since I started doing this, I get an easy 100 grams a day. Mostly, I eat fish and dairy protein too. Today, though, I am bringing along some Wendy's chili for lunch (4 oz has about 9-10 grams, plus I will throw in an ounce of light cheese for a few extra grams.) I also have been eating some chicken and either yogurt or a smoothie. One of my favorite meals so far is some dark meat chicken with fat free gravy, a little mashed potato, and a little spinach from Boston Market--yum!
Unfortunately, I cannot tolerate Isopure anymore. It just turns my stomach! I told her it reminded me of trying to drink Jello, and she said someone had told her it reminded them of a lava lamp! Ugh! Anyway, I have lots of leftover Isopure in the pantry if anyone wants any! I am also tuna'd out--I had been eating tuna fish with some light mayo but I think I will leave that alone for a while too. Another thing I like is shaved turkey meat with some cheese dipped in a little dijon mustard. 2 ounces is 11 grams.
Hope this helps--
Sue
