A new kind of Poll.....
Cool poll, Dana.
I agree with so much of what I've already read. I'm 13 mos out and down 130+ lbs. Not on any meds except coumadin for which I have one more month left to take due to a blood clot. I've had a few complications but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'm enjoying life so much more, now.
I've done the amusement park rides back in June. Have been swimming. I still have a long way to go but feel so much better and feel so much better about myself. I used to live for other people, now I also put me in the equation. I believe that I matter now. My weight loss has slowed down quite a bit, I've been exercising more to give it a jump start. I had eased up on protein and water intake and now back to basics and getting them in first. The scale is moving again (slowly, but moving). This seems crazy, but one thing that makes me so happy is that I can fit twice as many pairs of jeans in the dresser drawer now. They used to take up the whole drawer, but now two pairs can sit side-by-side. Strange that of all the good things, this one makes me happy - no one but me even sees it!

Well lets see. I'm 3 months out & I've lost 63 pounds!!! WOOHOO!!! I was borderline high blood pressure, diabetes & high cholesterol. That is all gone now. I have no more back pain & I'm almost able to cross my legs. What I can do now is shave my legs without holding my breath!! I jog 3 miles a day (which I would've never been able to do before). I can also play with my 2 1/2 year old daughter now. I almost have as much energy as she does. I still have 80 lbs. to lose to be at my goal weight but it never seemed so achievable in the past. I also love the fact that my "big" pants are now "way to big" pants" & are finding their way to the goodwill!!! YAY!!!

I'm almost 4 months out and have lost 78 pounds. I've gone from a size 30 to an 18/20. I took a business trip to Colorado Springs last week and could buckle the seatbelt on the airplane without an extension. I could also use the tray table without it being jammed into my stomach. I can slide easily into restaurant booths now - before RNY surgery we would sit at a table. My ring size has gone down from a 10 to a 7.5 and I had some diamonds remounted in a new 3 stone ring that I've wanted for sooooo long. I'm off ALL my diabetes meds (4 pills daily) and no more insulin SHOTS! My blood pressure meds have been cut in half. I used to take 9 different medications each morning. Now I take 2 plus my vitamins. I can cross my legs, I walk at lunch time each day when the weather cooperates without knee and hip pain, I'm not winded when I climb 2 flights of stairs at work. I get up in the morning with a smile instead of a frown. I'm so much happier than I've been in 25 years. My son says I'm getting skinny. He's never seen me this size before and he's 24 years old! My hubby calls me skinny too - that's a BIG accomplishment.
I could go on and on but I'll stop here. This has defintely been a worthwhile life changing experience. I don't ever want to go back to where I was before.

I would like to thank everyone *****sponded to this poll, I have enjoyed reading everyone's post. I hope the pre-ops can get some uplift out of this. I being almost one year out could relate to just about all of them, except I have never been on a airplane before. And Dianne you are right about the jeans in the drawers, I have been getting rid of clothes that don't fit, and I have so much more room in my closet and drawers, so much that I think it is time to go shopping!!!!! (sorry hubby).
Thanks again!!
