Go back to basics. Back to the way you ate when you were a newbie. Up your exercise or change your routine. You need to trick your body into loosing again. Dee

Chiwy, Hi there. I'm almost 20 months post op. It is perfectly normal to be able to eat more. I have discussed this with the doctors and dieticians. Our metabolism changes as our pouch stretches. I am basically at maintainence at this point. I lose a pound here or there. Sometimes I even gain and then lose again. My food choices are three ounces of lien protein (chicken, fish, turkey) 1/4 cup of starch and 1/4 of veggies for lunch and dinner. I have added 1/4 of brown rice which has helped to keep my pouch happy so that I do not want to eat more. I usually eat cereal, oatmeal, or a scrambled egg with cheese, broccoli, and sometimes hatfields canadian ham (very low fat 5 g protein). Snacks are string cheese, yogurt (blue bunny drinkable yogurt), sugar free jelly and sugar free peanut butter with whole wheat crackers, sugar free applesauce, fruits and veggies. You may want to try to switch your program around a bit. try lower calorie choices, increase your water and exercise. Keep protein as your main food choice. I have a sample menu guide for people one year post op. Please send me an email if you would like me to fax it or mail it to you. Best wishes, Deb 262/ 118

Here's a suggestion. Curves is starting a new nutrition service this month. My mom works there and her boss gave me the member book to look over. It follows similar guidelines to what we're taught in life skills classes pre-op. You might want to give it a try. They can help you get back on the right track and it's someone to monitor you, and encourage you. I know I will if I start to slide back into my old bad habits. Dee
