My consult is on Tuesday...

My consult at Barix Clinics is this tuesday at 1:30pm. I don't know why but I am feeling nervous...lol...and it's just a consult. I am just afraid to be too happy because something could still go wrong and they could tell me that I am not elgible for surgery. I am already dreaming about smaller clothes and how it will feel to finally be comfortable in my own body again. I did get a nice compliment at church today. I was talking to a lady who was asking me when I was going to have another baby and I was telling her that I will have to wait quite a while because of my upcoming surgery and she said. Oh, you are not that big, you probably don't qualify for that. I DO qualify for it, but it felt nice to hear someone say that. I do think I carry my weight quite well and I think that is why it has stayed on for so many years. I keep telling myself that I don't look that bad and I don't have any health complications. But, I know that I am just lying to myself. The health complications are going to come for sure if I don't lose this weight soon!!! Wow, sorry I am writing a book here. I guess I just needed to talk today. Robyn

Awww, thanks for offering to go Bonnie, that is so sweet. Actually my husband took the day off so he is going with me. I am glad because that way he can hear whatever I may miss because of nerves. He has been really supportive and really wants me to have the surgery so I am glad to have him as my cheerleader!!! Robyn

Hello Robyn. I am Joe from Dover and I was to have my surgery at Barix too way back in December and then in January. I was the very first case for Blue Cross they had since they just started a contract with BC/BS, so I was sort of a test case. I hope you like the place, it is beautiful, however I did not have my surgery there and had it done in Havre de Grace by Dr. Smoot after the chief medical DR of BC/BS got involved with a huge screw up. I would like to hear what you have to say and what you think as well. If you are high in sugar at all, please watch your Hemoglobin A1C or they will absolutely will NOT do the surgery.
