I am still rocking with weigh****chers - down 72.4 pounds
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
I am so glad now that I was unable to get the band cause I CAN and AM doing this myself.
I have been updating here cause I was posting when I was going through all the stuff for the band. The whole thing got cancelled about 1 week before surgery due to gastroparesis (stomach problem newly diagnosed).
Anyhow, I am SO HAPPY AND EXCITED FOR ME! I feel so cool now - he he chick that I am!!!

Way to go PINK!!!! I don't care if most people here are only interested in the surgery and results... weight loss for health is weight loss for health and I'm proud of you!!! Need a cheerleader, email me, seems I've become the non-surgical cheerleader around here... at least, unofficially!
Keep up the great work!

Rachel, this is NOT just a WLS site. Everyone who is concerned about Obesity uses this site. There are many who visit here regularly who are not having surgery and are just interested in support for their struggles with weight. That's why it's called Obesity Help, not Weight Loss Surgery Help. We're here to give encouragement no matter what your situation. Yes the majority are surgical patients, but not all. I lurked on this site for about a year or so before I made my decision about surgery. I just never bothered to register until after my initial consultation and the Doc gave me a list of useful websites and this one was on it.
You are doing so great!!!! I wish I'd been able to loose like you on WW (all 3 times I tried it). Which plan are you on? Do you do the points? buy their food, etc? Do you use any protein supplements? What kind of exerise program are you on? I'm starting back to Curves next month as soon as I'm cleared by Irgau. Right not I'm stuck just walking (what I really want to do is take my little girl out bike riding!).

PS: Since I'm not allowed to actually do cartwheels for you, here's some virtual ones:
That's what I had thought at first too... that it was about obesity, not WLS... but I have talked to MANY people who have decided that WLS is not for them and they don't feel that they get the support they need here... which I believe is a shame. We are all here for the same reason, whatever our decision about how to deal with it, we all need support... my view at least...
I think the site, generally, puts an emphasis on the surgeries rather than just weight loss... haven't seen yet a board for people who are doing Weigh****chers, or for those doing Atkins, have you? But I do see groups for Sept Surgeries, or August, pick your month...
Oh well, just my opinion... but everyone deserves the support... even if this site does focus mostly on the surgery.
