Down 120 pounds since surgery on 1/3/2005

I've lost an entire person! Literally! I happen to know people who weigh 120 pounds. One of them, a dear friend of mine, agreed to stand next to me and have pictures taken so that I NEVER forget why I made this journey. I can't believe I just had the surgery on 1/3/05. I can't believe how blessed and privileged I am to know many of you. I can't believe that I can't continue to shop in Lane Bryant and the Avenue - everything is too big. I can't believe that I needed new glasses because my old pair is too wide. I can't believe that my wedding ring needed to be resized because it's too big. I can't believe that I no longer own clothing size 30 and up or size 20 and up. I can't believe I can walk into a "normal" clothing store and buy a size 14 anything. I can't believe I can walk 5 miles and not feel like I need time to recover from it. I can't believe how GOOD God is! I've had my 6-month with Dr. Irgau (exam and blood work) and everything is fine. I am so grateful that my health has not suffered but has improved because of my weight loss. My husband (who was very opposed to me having surgery) has been attentive and loving. He has also begun to work out in an effort to improve his health. That's an answer to my prayers! I've still got "fat brain" which causes me to buy something too big (and have to return it) but I'm adjusting. I have no complaints and no regrets. I'm grateful, blessed and happy. Peace to each of you! Cassandra

Girl, YOU ROCK!!!!!! Wow my hubby is loving & attentive now, I'll have to beat him off with a stick after I loose 130 pounds (that's my personal goal, although I might be too old to obtain & maintain it for long)! Are you at your goal yet? Do you have alot of extra skin? I'm only 2 weeks out. Dee

You are awesome! We are embarked on an amazing individual and group journey. Are you still riding? We are still looking to get additional team members for Team Gastric, on the MS 150 Bike to the Bay. Six months and look how great you health has gotten. Now get busy and start setting your goals for the next six months. Your friend...Rob(one of the cycling Gastric Brothers)

AWESOME!!! Isn't it great??? I wouldn't change anything in the world for the way I feel now! I only wish that everyone that needed this surgery would be able to get it.
