Hello Everyone, My name is Kenn, i might have met a few of you this past Saturday at the Support Meeting or you might already know me. Ever since i have had Gastric Bypass Surgery, i thought it would be a great idea to start a Little Reunion type Party for all of those interested who have had the Surgery. Now, i don't want to step on anyones toes if someone is already doing something as i am suggesting, but if not, i would definetly be interested in having everyones input. I am a cook by trade and have a catering business, so food is where my experience is. I am great at organizing parties. I am looking along the lines of an outdoor Picnic, where everyone can bring a covered dish (most likely a Small one, lol) or snacks, drinks, whatever you want. I know its extremely Hot! now, but i am looking along the lines of September 17th or 18th, I would be willing to rent a pavilion at a State Park. Let me know what you think! Kenn Miller

Kenn, That's a terrific idea. Unfortunately I will be in Florida that weekend. I'll be with you in spirit. Glad to see that you are feeling better and posting on the boards. Best wishes, Deb

Ken, that's a wonderful idea. It's so hard to chat after the meetings with the folks at PMRI hearding us out the door like a bunch of cattle. LOL I wish I could've made it to the meeting on Sat but I just got home from the hospital Friday morning. I was still sleeping alot. Where do you work? My husband is the Executive Chef for Paine Catering. Are you in the Chef's Association? I may have met you and don't remember. Dee

Kenn, Sounds great to me! I've never brought a protein shake to a picnic before! By that time, things will be better. I will keep it on my calendar and watch the boards, but hopefully we will meet at PMRI. Thanks again--Sue

Hey Kenn, This sounds great to me, would I be allowed to come even if I haven't had the surgery yet? Last estimate was that it will be scheduled in Sept/Oct (with my luck I'll be in the hospital for the "reunion") Would this be a time that I could bring in my healthy treats that I am hoping to get recipes for? I love to experiment with cooking and baking and am already working on tasty treats like high protein cookies and things of that nature... I'll of course have recipes and nutritional information available LOL... Hugs... great idea, hope I won't be in the hosptial (but if I am, you take turns coming to see me right?) Huggles Rachel

Rachel, Hell, the more the merrier, this would give you a great oppurtunity to see and taste some of what you might be eating after your surgery. It was suggested that i bring it up at the next support meeting and i will, besides i am going to make up a few flyers to hand out to anyone interested. Have a Great day! Kenn

Sounds great, Kenn! Sept 17th is a PMRI meeting day, but I personally don't see that as a problem. Just thought I'd mention it. I'd like in on this one. Dianne
