I survived!

Hello all, I just wanted to let you know that my surgery for my pacemaker is finally over. This was a revision done. My lead(wire) that went to the bottom portion on my heart broke. I thought it would be a done deal, go in out with the old in with the new. NOT! I had exrays taken at kent general and they sent the xrays with me and didnt say anything was serious and for the next 3 weeks I was walking around with this broken lead inside my heart and the part that broke off went out my aorta valva. The other end was still connected to the bottom of my heart. Luck for me the dr office went they discovered it turn the electricity off. I was running on one wire. To make the horror story short, I went into the hospital, doctors saw what was wrong and immideatley went to work deciding what to do. I was facing open heart surgery but there were 2 docotrs who performed a heart cath , it took 4 hrs and I was awake for the whole thing, boy did that hurt! They got the lead out but a small piece lodge in the pelvic area. Thats ok for now. that night when I was allowed up, my groan(artery) busted open and I almost saw my maker. It was scary. The next day they re position my pacemaker higher near my collor bone and added 2 new leads.I'm sorry for blabbing off like this here. I need support and Im trying to work through some stress issues I have after this. This experience left me shaken. But before this I got good new that I can get my tummy tuck! Yepie!! Thats keeps me going . When I see my heart doctor and if he writes a clearance dr danyo said they will proceed. I'm going for sept or Oct. we'll see. Thats for letting me run my mouth. LOL, I usually don't post oftern but look out when I do. Take care, Betty

Hi Elissa, Thank you for your support! I'm feeling much better. I'm still sore and tire easy and I have to get use to this gadget in my cheat. I've lost a total of 136 lbs since 12/9/03. I feel a 110% better than before. It feels good to only take one perscription and the rest are vitiamms and calcium. Take care and I hope to get to one of those meetings soon. Betty
