I don't post nearly as often as I used to, but I figured that I needed to share this experience. I have only had 2 experiences with dumping in the 15 months since my surgery, so Sunday night when I started getting a very upset stomach, I paid close attention. After about 2 hours, I had a bm. after that the upset stomach got worse, and became SEVERE pain. I'm not one to call the doctor, but I did this time!!! After 3 phone calls (very unusual for CHRIAS) the new surgeon (Dr. Sahm) called back. By 3 am I was in Christiana ER and the pain was subsiding. To make a long story short.......I have gall stones. I have a follow up appt with Dr Sahm this Friday to talk about getting my gall bladder out. The moral of this story..........any pain = call the doctor!!!!! Ken

Ken So sorry this happened. So glad you FINALLY decided to get help. Hope you are on the mend. You are so right about calling in those pains. I didn't know there was a fourth Dr. aboard. Hope you are feeling spiffie and new soon. Well this gall bladder surgery is one way to slow down your work schedule for a short time. Thinking of you, Dianne

I've felt your pain (literally). I had my gallbladder out in 97. Worst pain I ever experienced!!! It scared me so much because I didn't know what it was and when it was going to end. They give you the good drugs in the hospital for that one! I was in so much pain and they didn't have an OR available so they put my on IV pain meds and kept me ovenight. Had the surgery the next day (laproscopic, incisions and very similar to gastric incisions). The following day I was released after I asked one of the nurses if we could race around the station. That was on a friday. I was back to work on Monday. Felt great since. Now you won't have to take that nasty gallbladder medication! Good luck! Dee

Ken. Missed ya. Long time no see or hear. Glad the Dr. figured out what was wrong so quickly. So much for taking the Actigall for 6 months. Lotta good that nasty stuff did for you. LOL If you're not busy Thursday night, come on over for the Healthy Beginings support mtg at my house. 7-9 PM. The church has construction going on so the party is here. Topic is Body Image. Boy do we all have issues with that. Bring a lawn chair. ((HUGS)) Elissa

So sorry to hear that Ken, I also know what that pain feels like. Although I found out that I had them a month before my gastric surgery was scheduled. So Dr. Peters actually took out my gallbladder in Dec. and then had GB in Jan. Hope you feel better soon. Christie
