Insurance suggestions?
Hi all,
Missed lurking and/or posting on the site. My PC has been "sick" off and on for the past few weeks. Interesting how I got so used to the Internet and email -- so much so, I felt lost without it! Anyhow, I'm back now (at least for now, hope I didn't jinx my PC by saying that!). Lots of catching up to do on the postings I missed.
I don't know if I am asking too big of a task ...
but I was wondering if anyone who would like to share...
could give me opinions on health insurances? I am getting KILLED paying the premium for BCBS PPO but I like it in the sense that so much of everything is covered. OK, I know in life it's you get what you pay for....:>) but anyhow I want to look into more reasonable options -- because maybe some out there are just as good for what I need -- and wondering what people think.
I am post-op so I have no commitment to have a plan that covers surgery. Unless anyone thinks any of the aftercare I am currently getting will considered "pre-existing." I am thinking about other BCBS plans, like the Keystone HMO or POS, various Aetna plans (HMO or PPO).
Gotta tell you I have all the paperwork that explains the various plans to me and I have been reviewing them for the past two days. All I've gained are some serious papercuts!
So I'll admit I am stupid when I come to this. I've always just had to rely on what my employer provided which was EASY. But now I am an independent consultant and paying for all of it on my own! Have to make my own decisions but I want to be sure to make a good choice!
Anyone want to share?!?
THANKS IN ADVANCE
Kit
Kit,
Sorry, I struggle with insurance issues also. But wanted to say hello and to let you know it is good to see you around here again!
I think I remember seeing a post from someone who works in insurance that hangs around this board ... perhaps they will find this post and be able to offer you good advice??? If you don't get response here after the Holiday weekend, perhaps trying the main board may find someone who can help you out?
Sure do wish you the very best finding an insurance company that fits you well.
Hugs,
Tammy
Tammy,
I am just now catching up with the postings I've missed but as always thanks for being so nice and checking in and replying to my question. I'm less stressed about my insurance choices than I was when I posted but man, a lot of info and what ifs to absorb and worry about!
I am sorry to see that you've had some family issues lately and I hope all is better now. You are in my good thoughts and prayers!
