WOW Moment
Hi Folks, Sharing another WOW moment. I was the type of person who was "For the kids". I was troop camping Mother in Girl Scouts, Softball coach among tons of other hats that I wore. I am proud to say that last night I was Head Timer for my Grandkids swim team. It was a long night. Started at 6 and wasn't over til 9:30. I absolutely loved every minute of it. It was exciting to see the team spirit all the way from the 6yr olds to the 18 yr olds. I had to run to each Lane and record the times to hand into the Officials table after each heat. BTW 64 heats. I have to admit my legs mucles were killing me by the end of the night, but after an hour of swimming and the hot tub this morning I feel good as new. The good news is I am down another 10 lbs. Must have been all the sweating, it was really really hot & muggy last night. I should have worn my bathing suit under my clothes. I wanted to get in pool, but not ready for any wet t-shirt nonsense yet. .
Hope everyone has a good 4th of July. God Bless. Be careful if you are on the roads. Elissa
WOW is right Elissa!!! How exciting to find yourself able to do things we never dreamed possible just a few short months ago!!! I am so very happy for you and proud of you my friend!!! 10 pounds in one evening!!! I wanna join your "sauna"!!! WOW!!!
Now about that wet T-shirt nonsense ... I can see it now
"OH hosts it's first annual WLS wet T-Shirt contest!!!"
*** what a visual eh???
Oh my gosh, Elissa, that's awesome!! Isn't this the best?? It was so horribly hot last night and the "old me" never would think of going outside and doing anything. But, my grass was pretty high and I like cutting the grass for my exercise one night a week, so my hubby hasn't had to cut the grass once this season. Anyway, even though just putting gas in the mower made me sweat, I cut the whole lawn anyway. Boy, was I a sweaty mess when I was done. But I think back to last year, I probably wouldn't have made it 10 steps without having to sit down and catch my breath. I wouldn't have gone outside at all, actually. I was buzzing around my yard pretty fast. Then, I found myself pulling weeds after I put the mower away. This is just awesome. Aren't we lucky to feel like new people?? Have a WONDERFUL 4th of July, E!!!

Elissa,
Life is good!
So glad to hear a good report and encouraging too that the pounds are still coming off. Can you even imagine that a year and half ago you would be willing to be doing anything other than sitting in a chair on the side lines watching the swim meet from the sides? Let alone running back and forth keeping times. Your family must be so proud of you and all your accomplishments. And it is amazing that the grands probably don't even remember that grandma couldn't have done it before. They'll just want you to do it again for them. Grandkids are so great.
Hope you have a great fourth of July. Enjoy the fireworks. I liked your email of the statue of Liberty. Have you ever been to NYC for the fireworks? They are great. Did it once. Now I jus****ch them on TV. Got caught in Chinatown that night and fireworks were really going off. Under the car, all around us. It was scary. The ones on the water were spectacular though.
God bless,
Mama
