I go into labor at 8am....

on July 13th for my re-birthing. (LOL, I hope it's not as painful as the last birthing I went through, I did that one without any drugs! ) I just got back from my pre-op with Irgau. My BP was great, and I got all my cards & stuff I'll need post op. I was getting really antsy the past couple of weeks but now I feel pretty calm. Of course I'm busier than hell trying to get everything pulled together for my vacation on Ocracoke Island, NC. We're leaving at 4am on Sunday in order to catch the noon ferry to the island from Hatteras. I highly recommend all pre-ops to take a vacation right before surgery. You're too busy to worry! Dee, Congrats. Glad to hear things are going well for you. I had my initial appt with Dr. Irgau and as everyone said, he is great. I am looking for surgery sometime in December. And I am going on a cruise in November. So I am taking your advise! haha. Good luck and have a great time! Jenn

Thanks, I just read your profile. I too am going to college. I started back in 2001 at Goldey-Beacom working on a AA in Business Admin. I graduated with that in 2003 (2 weeks before my wedding). I am now continuing on to a Bachelors in Marketing. I start my next class on July 11th, and do not plan on missing more than 1 class (and maybe not even that one). I figure I'll be well enough to sit and listen to a lecture for an hour and then work on a computer. Maybe you could do an online class during your recouperation, instead of delaying your surgery. It only took me 10 weeks from start to finish for my surgery. You could probably get your surgery as soon as September. You will be amazed at how fast the time goes. Good Luck! Dee

I just came back from Irgau today, 6 month check up. Everything is great, I am down 107 pounds. Best of all got a clean bill of health. Dr. Irgau made me feel so good when he came into the room and saw me for the first time after my weight lost. He laughed and said I can not believe how great you look. He was so sincere and so sweet. Have a great vacation Dee, and I will pray for you on the 13th. Do not forget any questions just call me. But, you seem to have a better grasp of this surgery then I do.... Hey Joy. I was going to try to stop by & pick up Chelsea's prescription after I was done, but it took a little longer than I expected and I had to get back to work. I'll just have to grab it tonight. How do those bathing suits fit? They were so cute when I bought them! It killed me when I got too fat for them! Heck, at the rate you're going, you'll be too skinny for them before the summer's over!!! I was heavier then you are now when I bought them. Unless Chelsea get's sick, I probably won't see you until after my surgery! Thanks for the prayers! You've been an inspiration! Dee

Dee, The next couple of weeks will go quickly. I highly recommend a vacation right before your surgery. My few days at the beach were wonderful for me. I was rested and my mind was clear and ready for the changes in my life. I think that was what made the surgery so easy for me. I will be thinking about you and praying for you.
