weighing the odds

Hi everyone I've been reading all the posts for about 2 weeks now, trying to decide what is best for me. From everything that I've read, seems like this is the only option for me. My husband and I have talked at great lengths and decided to go ahead. Have to go to a Dr in Philly for insurance reasons and had my conference last night. My first surgical consult is 7/11, any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. You all sound like a great group of people and would like to hear more from you all. Congrats to all of you who have had wls and to the upcoming ones. Beth

Welcome Beth, Compose a list of questions you want to ask at the consult, and use this site to research, reading profiles, and going to library. And any way we can help along the way please don't hesatate to ask. You have come to a great place, this message board helped me through a very difficult time pre-op, I may have given up if it wasn't for the great support system here. Beth, You have come to the right place....I had my surgery in Philly too! Dr Hottie...oh I mean Kirkland! LOL. I thought long and hard about this decision I made last year.....I have to say I feel great and its only been a year!!! What ever questions you have just put them out...there are so many knowledgeable people here...advice is always good! We look out for one another and support is needed and always given here!!! My husband is my biggest fan. I could not have done it without him! Good luck with your journey....Please come to the support groups in Delaware...you will find them very helpful for your journey. I still go to PA Hospitals Support Group as well. I have been very faithful to my journal here so if you care to read.... Hope your journey will be as fun as mine has been. Debbie
