getting VERY SCARED

My surgery date is 7/8/05 and I have changed from the Bypass to the Lapband. I feel alot more comfortable with this decesion- HOWEVER, I am starting to get really scared. I just need encouragement and prayers please from ANYONE. If you are a "Lapbander"- please let me know how it is going. I asked for an angel months ago to no avail. That is fine- I just want to at least hear from somebody though. Thank you!

Christina, I just had bypass 1 week ago and I am doing great. I can't speak for lapband but my surgery was very uneventful. The nurses are great and care from everyone was unbelievable. Lots of good luck and prayers are going out to you. Keep posting and you will find lots of good support from these wonderful people. Ellen

Hi Christina.....I'm not even at your point yet. I don't have a date yet. I will be just the same as you...scared! I'm already scared. You will be fine. Listen to everyone here. Their words are very encouraging. I have my first meeting tonight at PMRI. I'm even scared about that already. Mostly the drive there. I'm not familiar with that area at all and I will be by myself. I will say a prayer for you everyday and I know you will be ok. Sharon

Hi Christina: I hear you loud and clear. My surgery is scheduled for 7/19 and I too am scared. I am hoping that when I have my pre-opt on 7/7 that I will feel much better. At least that is what I am hoping. I'm sending you my prayers. Kim

Don't worry Christina. Several of my friends from Life Skills class have had their surgeries and all are doing great! My pre-op appt is thurs and I know that I'll feel much better after that. My surgery is scheduled for 7/13. I just want to get it over with so I can get on with my life! Dee

hello christina,please don't be scared you will do just fine.i had my surgery may 31,2005 i had the bypass done and i'm doing great.you said you needed a angel will sweetie i would be proud to be your angel just let me know ok if you want me to be,im here for you.i put in my mind hey you are doing this for the right reason and for a good reason so go with a positive attuite(sry bad spelling lol.)so i went in thinking that and i said to myself this will be done and over with and i can start my journey on the losing side.i want you to know kristina we all are here to support you you are not alone and if you want me to be there the day of surgery and stay with you until they bring you to your room im there jusy say the word ok.well sweetie take care and i'll be waiting to hear from you soon ok,your friend bonnie
