Update on my WLS Friends

Well only 2 of my "Fat Class" friends had the surgery this week. Poor Rosalia's hemoglobin was too high so they had to postpone hers. I hear she was really bummed (I haven't heard from her yet). I did get to see Kim & Janice. Both are doing well. Kim gets out today and hopefully Janice will be home sometime tomorrow. Kim was in a little pain but she said it wasn't too bad (she hadn't had any meds in a while because she wanted to be coherent for her visitors). Janice had just gotten into her room about an hour before we got there and was still pretty groggy but she was able to talk and said that it wasn't too bad. My best wishes go out to them and my fingers are crossed for Rosalia that they will be able to reschedule her as soon as possible! Dee

Dee: I am a very good friend of Janice G. we decided to the this gastric bypass together, but we were in seperate life skills classes, and our surgery dates could not be at the same time. Janice is doing very well. she came home on FRi. June 10th, she had a minor complication from surgery (her one lung slightly deflated) but they said it would be fine and go back to normal on it's own. I talked to her on Sun. and she is doing great. Thanks Rosemary. I just got an email from her this morning. She sent it on Sat or Sun but sometimes I forget to check my work email on the weekends. I'm so glad she's doing so well. Really eases my fears. I'll have to remember the fan though. It was really hot in the hospital. I absolutely cannot sleep when it's hot!!!! Dee
