Bonnie Miller wants to know. Who goes to which meeting? Okay folks. Lets let her have it. I'll go 1st. I have gone to both PMRI meetings for the past 2 yrs. I have been to Changing Lives at The VA Med Ctr. I have been to the NDE/WLS mtg at Peniel Church. I am one of the Chapter Leader at Healthy Beginnings mtg at Concordia Church. I get a little something different out of each meeting. Some are formal and structured. Others are laid back and more informal. The best thing is the people and the sharing of information. Some meetings have standing room only (over 40 people) and some are an intimate group of 13/14 people. The meetings help keep me focused and on a positive trend. Okay next. Need input from others. I offer a support group for us "downstaters" in Smyrna. It is really hard for some of us to travel to Wilmington. I love being able to help people that are looking and that have had this surgery. I am so lucky to have met so many nice people along the way. My group is continuing to grow with about 30 active members. I am currently looking for a bigger location to hold our meetings. New Beginning Support Group started January 2004 with about 5 people at our first meeting and continues to grow each month. We had a family picnic last summer where everyone brought one of their favorite sugar free recepies, we do a clothing exchange, we share our triumphs and downfalls. Each of us is there for one another to give them that push that they may need to get themselves jump started again to realize why we are all there in the first place! Everyone does need to go to a support group... I see first hand how easy it is to fall back into our old habits. We need the guidance and friendship to help guide us along the way in this life altering event.

I went to my 1st meeting Monday at PMRI. I thought it was really nice even though it was mostly review. I did get some helpful tips from people who have been where i am at. Also I got to try a new product thanks to Elissa. I plan to continue going and to try other places. Mary Clark

I've been to PMRI, VA Hosp, and the Newport meeting at one time or another. I'm hit or miss. Would like to be more "hit than miss" in the future. I haven't attended the Healthy Beginnings one yet but am looking very forward to it. Dianne

I'm still pre-op (7/13/05) but I have been to 2 PMRI meetings and plan to attend the one on the 18th. I just found out from Elissa's post about the other groups. I plan to give them a try after my surgery next month. Dee

I'm like Diane right now. I'm mostly miss, but would like to get back to hitting all of the meetings. I really miss them! Before I started my second job, getting to all of the meetings was so much easier. right now, I think it has been about 2 months since I've been to any meetings. I've also been running around too much to post. Lately, I've only gotten to read the boards about once a week. Ken
