I have a surgery date for June 15th. Boy does that ever make it real. Real scary!! Hopefully my final doctor clearance and insurance will not hold me back. I am so excited, I can hardly put my fingers on the right keys to type this. Wish me luck and pray for me. Ellen

Congratulations Ellen! Now is the time that it can get a bit nerve wrenching as you have already found out. It helped me to rely upon my decision that I had made much earlier when emotions were not running high in the face of surgery. Truly it helped knowing that I had weighed the pro's and con's, had the necessary preop testing, had talked to the docs about whether this is a good choice for me and etc ... long before I had actually made my decision. I had to remember all the research, all the thought and consideration, the fact that I prayed about my decision before it was even made, and the fact that our surgeons are top of the line and take every single precaution possible to help ensure no surprises in the OR or afterwords BUT are extremely well equipped to handle those surprises should they occur!!! It also helped me to remember that I had done all I could to lose the weight and my life was going downhill fast ... the docs were there to help me do what I could not do on my own. This was crunch time and I had to put my trust in God and my skilled surgeons. Had I choosen to forgo the surgery, I have no doubt that I would be close to wheelchair bound if not actually in one right now. Not to mention the unbearable pain ... truly this surgery has been such an unbelieveable blessing for me! I always hesitate to encourage surgery for anyone else though, as I can not be sure if this is the right decision for anyone but me. I can only trust in your decision and that of your many doctors. Hang in there sweetie, your day will be here before you know it and then you will be on the other side giving encouragement to those coming along behind you. Looking forward to sharing in all your post-op wow moments! Trust that I will be praying for you! Hugs, Tammy

Tammy, Thank you so much for the beautiful words. I have been trying to help my husband and family understand what I am going through and I think your words will be a great comfort to them. They are totally supportive of my decision, but sometimes questions the WHYS. I have not been successful at any other diet program and they only have that to go by and are unsure of my being able to make this one successful also. I hope this will help them join in the journey with me. Love, Ellen
