I need to know if anyone had a hysterectomy post op? I had some problems during surgery on Friday where they could not stop my bleeding. I was in the O.R. for an extra two hours until they were able to control it. My doc told me that my uterus was paper thin... it should have the texture of "leather". She wondered if I'm "lacking" something since this surgery. Please let me know... I'm going to post on the main message board too. I will let you all know what I find out.

Hi Ginger, No, I haven't had a hysterectomy, but I bleed very heavy on my monthlys. Sorry, I can't help, but am interested in what you find out. Take care, Dana

Ginger, I was wondering does your blood seem to be thin? I have a tendency to clot, so I am on a blood thinner. Do you eat alot of greens? Only asking because greens have vitamin k which thickens your blood. Just wondering if you have "think blood" so to speak. That may be why. Christie

I would assume my blood is normal... no one has ever brought to my attention any issues. I guess I'm going to keep taking the Iron supplement for a while. Dr. Wynn's office told me that I could stop it after the hysterectomy. I don't think anyone really knows the correct answer.

Ginger, I was supposed to have mine last week..but I postponed it until school ends in early June. I have severe anemia...and hopefully this will help. I'm very curious to learn about what happened..How are you doing now? Did you have to get any transfusions? Thats my concern. I had to have them with the RNY. Hugs, Kimberly
