Thanks everyone 4 Ur prayers
I am home. I got home about noon today. Sat here posted your message and realized oooo, I need to be in bed lol. So to bed I went. Everything actually feels great except for this muscle I pulled while at the hospital. Figures eh? So all my moaning and groaning is due to that muscle.
I have been running some fever.
How are you feeling?

Hey Shirley ... how are you doing? Last time I saw you, you were sporting the newest in hospital gown fashion!
Did the docs warn you that the next week or so you may be feeling a bit more tired than the first couple of weeks? If not, this is common at this time ... and will pass. They told me but I still did not quite expect it. Rest when you need to do so.
Take care and make sure you push the protein to help you heal and maintain as much muscle mass as possible. And try to push the water to keep your kidneys in good shape and flush you out.
Hugs,
Tammy

Shirley,
You are doing wonderful if you are already walking 2 miles per day. That is GREAT! Keep it up!!! About the protein, I was not doing too well when I was first out either. It took me quite a while before I was able to get the correct amount in. Just keep working at protein first at all meals and snacks. It will come in time. It helped me if I could slip a bit of protein in little bits. Such as the protein oatmeal from the docs office and add a half scoop of unflavored Unjury to it. Mashed potatoes with a smidgen of unflavored protein and cheese. Refried beans with a little added protein powder and cheese. Seeing a pattern here? I think I put cheese on just about everything when I was a new post op. Not sure it was the best idea, but it was what I did. Linda had tons of great pureed high protein recipes. If you email her, I am sure she would share them with you. She was very creative with her menu choices. I on the other hand pretty much got in a rut. If it worked, I stayed with it kinda attitude. *grin*
Hang in there, this first month is the hardest. You will be filled with a renewed energy and getting in your minimum protein before you know it.
Hugs,
Tammy
