Hello everyone, I am not complaing about my hair loss, I am living with it. I do have alot of re-growth. My problem is my hair is so fuzzy. I have tried very expensive conditioner. Do you think maybe I need to get a trim maybe that would help. Any hairdressers out there can you help? Thanks, Dana

Dana, Not a hair dresser here ... but give me a call. I am terrible with phone numbers and I can't seem to find yours. Anyway, give me a call, I think I have something here that you may want to try to see if it helps calm the frizzies. Just some shampoo and conditioner that I found that I LOVE ... seems to do far better for me than even the expensive salon products I have tried. Not sure you will get the same results, but would be glad to give you a sample of mine so you can try and see if it helps you. IF you find that you like it, I can order it for you when I place my order (next week) the cost is something like $14 for both products and they last for a very long time and my hair never felt softer than with this stuff and yet it did not cause it to go limp. I do have a question for you ... the frizzies that you are talking about ... is that normal for your hair or is this something with the regrowth? The reason I ask this, is because, I never had trouble with frizzies before WLS, but since surgery, my regrowth sometimes got a bit frizzy. Not sure why. Actually it felt a bit like a newborn babies hair ... so soft, but can be a bit ummm well ... think you know what I mean by newborn baby hair. But the longer it gets the more "controlled" it gets. I guess just adding some weight to it helps? Anyway, I was just commenting on this to hubby the other day. I knew I had lost some hair but didn't really get the full gist of it until just recently while having a "bad" hair day. I had my hair pulled up in a pony tail and had worked out. When I looked in the mirror it was kinda scary ... my regrowth had pulled lose from the tail and was sticking out ALL over my head. I can't imagine what the people at the gym thought!!! Oh well ... *****ally cares ... anyway, seems my hair stopped growing for a while or at least slowed down ... but it growing now faster than ever. Currently my regrowth is about 8-12 inches long all over my head, some spots a bit shorter. And it seems my hair is getting thicker than it ever has been??? Go figure! Anyway, I have heard good reports from a lot of people on getting a "GOOD" cut when the hair starts to thin. I know when I got mine cut last March, it made a world of difference in the appearance and health of mine. Best wishes keeping your hair brush, floor and ummm other places , clear of "extra" hair - fuzzy or not!!! Tammy

Hey Tammy, now that you mention that icon, I have been having that trouble too. I guess it is the protien. About my hair, I have always had thick wavy hair. Right before surgery I got it cut short, (shoulder length) I never had frizzy problem before surgery, but most of the frizz is at the ends of my hair that is why I am thinking I should maybe consider a hair trim. All right I talked myself into to it, I will get my hair cut and then see what it looks like, maybe I will need to try your shampoo, I will call you. Thanks Dana

Dana, I went through..and now just finally seeing better hair days! I lost a lot of hair in the front and sides..and then when it grew back..yep..fuzzy! Then..my other hair was just so limp etc. It lacked shine etc..that I had before. I went ahead and cut it..so my new hairs would blend better..and I hate going short. I did it..and now after a few trims..its looking better. I used the Nioxin(thanks Elissa!) and tried to be careful with my styling and not overdry it. But, I figured one thing out! Its just now..when my vitamins are more under control(I'm better at taking them) and my weightloss has stabliized..that my hair is looking healthly again. I figured that that hair that grew during the excessive weightloss stage..wasn't very healthy. Think about it..it lacked the normal norishments..I was malnourshised.,.etc..so was my fine, limpy and fuzzy hair. Now at 1 year post-op..its finally shiny again!!! Yeah! So, I would take Tammy's suggestions..and then know that in time..it does get better..but boy...its a rough stage. Hugs to you!!! Kimberly

sorry for the hi-jack, dana! but i couldn't let tammy's potty talk go un-noticed. how ya doing, gf? i would take tam's advice--and her sample--and see how that works out for u. i have terribly frizzy hair and go thru loads of gel just to 'tame' it. but i know that's bad for me (and my hair). it's just what works for me right now. i know, i know...short-term fix that i'll be sorry for later. no hate mail, hairdressers!! hope all is well with u, sweetie! (((hugs))) -karen
