First I would like to come and meet some of you on Saturday, but meeting new people is painful for me - who knows why? I am extremely introverted and I guess that has something to do with it. If I can muster up the courage I will be there on Saturday and would even like to go out to lunch if I can invite myself. I figure you all seem nice on here and hey who knows, one of you might know a nice man for me (I just got divorced in November); and if you know a nice, honest bald, brown boy - well that would be so Seriously, I hope to meet you all. Second, did any of you see Lisa Pistone at PMRI for your psych eval. I am having a bit of a problem with her right now - you could see my post on the main message board for information. I was wondering if she turned anyone down for the surgery or tried to send them for therapy? I REFUSE to get into all that. I just got out of it and have my psychiatrist/psych nurse and therapists blessing for the surgery and they KNOW ME BEST, not Pistone who met me for 1/2 hour. I will know the answer on Friday b/c that is my final appt. with the endocrinologist and just to be sure I am getting a letter from my real psych people and taking it with me. I am not letting that Yahoo (pistone) ruin my getting the lap band. My date is April 12th by the way. I guess I should stop keeping my real name a It's Tracey

Hello Tracey, Dr. Pastone is a very hard women to get past in my opinion. When I had my appt. she wanted to make sure that I would eat breakfast before I had surgery, so she would not pass me until I proved it to her. Then when I saw the endocrinologist, he did not have her clearance. So most importantly when she clears you make sure he has that report. Hope this helps. Christie 7 weeks post op

Tracey, Please come to meeting on Saturday. I sat by myself at the last two meetings and was afraid to go up and talk to anyone, but after the last meeting which was run by Lisa Pistone , I started to talk to some of the people because she had no sense of humor and I have a hard time with people like that and that is when I found out how friendly everyone is. I am really looking forward to going on Saturday to see them again and meet some more people. I am planning to go to lunch with them and shopping at Trader Joe's. I hope you will come also. Ellen ( Look for me...I am the one with the short white hair )

Hi Ellen, This will be a good meeting for pre-ops and newbies also. Take notes and ask questions. It'll cover what to expect at the hospital visit and the next 3 months. I've heard Brett, Dr. Irgau and Dr. Wynn. Each was awesome. Don't know who'll be doing Saturday's meeting. But whoever it is, the meeting won't be boring. If you stick around for a little after, we'll be heading to Panera's and Trader Joe's. (For lunch and shopping and a reading labels lesson) Hope to see you again. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hello pink dots. I had A real problem with the other psyc Dr. Keenen who was also in my bussiness too like lisa in yours, and so did another woman in my lifeskills class and she had to go through alot of hoops and it's taking her longer to get her surgery and now she has to see lisa. so I guess it doesnt matter who you see because dr. keenen is not any better. I thought keenen was gonna try to stop me but she didn't so I think it will be o.k. I will keep you in my prayers good luck.

Tracey, Do try to make it to the meeting. Truly everyone there understands. So many of us were introverts. My first meeting was painful. Really I didn't want to go. But as soon as I got there, I was so glad I did. Everyone was wonderful and it was good to finally be with others who knew exactly what it was to deal with extreme obesity. Pure strangers in Oct 2003 became good friends in short time. Not sure what I would have done some of this time post op without them. Truly they have been with me through thick and thin! (no pun intended) And I am very grateful for them. Tammy

Hi Tammy, I was one of those people in October 2003. Course you had a picture on this site, so I recognized you immediately. I have to admit it was the 1st time in my life that I was comfortable with a group of people. We all have sooooo mu*****ommon. I used to be in a coocoon, now I'm a butterfly. This journey has been so exhilarating for me. Have missed you lately. Hope you csn make it on Saturday. ((LOVE)) Elissa

Tracey, I used to be an intovert also. Until I met my other partners in crime. Hang out a little after the meeting. You'll recognize some of us by our pic's. Please come to Panera's and Trader Joe's with us. We do make it a fun trip and reading labels at TJ's is soooooo informative. Welcome to our little group. ((HUGS)) Elissa
