Behavior Thinking
Well last night's meeting got me to think....problem is I think about the wrong things....I really didn't get how we can break the negative talk to ourselves especially in the case of when its suppose to be a positive action.
My problem is dealing with eating 6x a day. I think its overeating and snacking and such. I know I am only doing about 6 ounces per meal but isn't this a little excessive as we get further out? Shouldn't we be cutting the meals back more? Calories are about 200 sometimes less for each sitting so I can stay at a comfortable 1200!
Because this is something the Dr wants me to do I try to do this but with little success.....most of the time I can get 5 meals a day. Which on some days puts me in 1000-1200 category for calories. I prefer to drink vs eat these days.
On the days where I don't even get five meals I feel sluggish and a little off....But on those days I am not consistent with anything.....I remember when I use to only eat one big meal a day....I kinda miss those days!
What kind of positive self talk can I do to achieve the 6 mini meal deal....and actually do we have to stay at 6 meals a day? I still have to remind myself to eat which is something of a good thing for me!
Thank you for your input.
Hello,
I have the same problem trying to get 6 meals in a day. Can we count a smoothie has a meal? For snacks I try to use fresh fruit, do you think that is okay or should it be something with protein? Between my protein shakes and drinks and 3 of my meals I get about 85-110gms of protein in a day. I also have a problem with getting 64oz of liquid in but I'm working on that. I'll take any advise that you or anyone else would like to offer. I seem to be a slow loser but I am still losing.
Thanks, Dena
Dena,
I count a smoothie as a meal....Maybe I am wrong but if I eat and I am full that is it! I don't do more than two shakes a day....23 gram protein each....I am lucky to get 60 grams. Water is another story...I can drink forever! I am a slow loser too! I guess if I got more meals in and upped that protein I would do better.
