Back to the hospital

Hi everyone, I went in for my post op visit today. I had started having pain in my abdomen yesterday afternoon. Thought maybe I just pulled a muscle or something. I saw Dr. Peters (first time, since Dr. Irgau did my surgery) and he sent me for a CTscan. The scan showed residual fluid around my stomach. He said that it might be blood or maybe irrigating fluid used during the surgery that hasn't absorbed. My surgery was 3 weeks ago today. The pain is pretty severe at times. So, he said that I need to be admitted back into the hospital so that the problem can be fixed. I may have to have the fluid drained and then be put on antibiotics. I am not sure how long I will have to stay. There is a chance that they will have to go back in to fix the problem once they know what it happening. I am a little worried (actually a lot worried). Have any of you had a problem like this? I will most likely have to leave before anyone posts, but drop me an email at the hospital if you get a chance. Donna

Hi Donna, No experience in this area for me but I wanted to let you know I am definitely keeping a good thought for you. I bet they get you fixed up in no time. Hopefully this is just a little rough patch and the rest will be smooth sailing. Take care and hang in there. Linda
