Vitamins -- Question on Viactiv...

Anyone out there using the Viactiv chews, the calcium and the multi-vitamin???? I think they are great! I'm wondering what the recommended dosage for WLS patients is. I figured two calciums and two vitamins per day...but wondering what others might do????

I use the Viactive calcium alot. Right now I'm working on a box of the chocolate mint flavored ones. They are like a little treat and taste really good. I tried a sample of the multivitamin at the meeting on Saturday and all I can say is EWWWWW. I didn't like them at all. They tasted like I was chewing oil and left a greasy feeling in my mouth. I'm glad I was able to sample before I blew money on a whole box of them. You might like them, I'd shop around for a sample first tho. Linda

Hey there Linda, THANKS! Yes they are a treat! I love the caramels the best! Which flavor of the vitamins did you try? I have the Tropical Fruit and I really like them -- to me, they sort of taste like fruity candy (Starburst, Skittles??...I get the two confused).Trader Joes sells their brand of calcium chews in both Fruit and Chocolate. Not sure how they stack up nutritionally wise to the Viactivs or how they taste... Kit

Hi Just wanted to jump in and say that you can get a free sample of the multi-vitamin by logging onto Viactiv.com. I haven't received my free sample yet and I didn't get to the free sample at the meeting last Saturday so I can't really say how they taste. I'm with Linda though----- TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! Hi Linda, You are right about the samples! That's what got me hooked. They used to offer trials of the calcium too but I don't know if they still do. If they are only offering the vitamins now, many drugstores sell small "travel pacs" of the calcium. But I would check the Viactiv website first. I AGREE about trying before you buy because everyone has their own preferences -- and if you don't like the taste you won't take them! You can also get line by line vitamin levels so you can compare the stats and see how they match up to what you are currently using... Kit
