Home and Well, The questions begin!
After all my back and forth, I had surgery on Monday morning and everything went perfectly! They released me before eight o'clock this morning since I'd practicly been running laps around the nurse's station!
Thank you so much to everyone for your support, prayers, and caring. It's really kept me lifted up through all this. It doesn't seem real! I spent so much time getting ready for the surgery, it's difficult to believe that inside me there's a teensy tiny tummy! In any case, my ittybitty belly and I are home and well and I'm nursing it like it's my best friend.
Now, the real question: about how much should I be intaking, both liquid and pureed...and about how long should it be taking me to consume it? I've had about six oz. of unjuried chicken broth, half a sugar free cup of jello, and eight oz. of a protein fruit juice mix...just trying to work on keeping fluids in right now. I figure, not bad for day one, right?
Any advise or comments is well welcome! and again, THANKS!
Susane,
Welcome to the other side, glad you made it. Your intake of fluids are very inportant just keep in mind keep sipping. I had my sergury in Michigan at the CORI center. According to them the first week should be clear liquids, the second week is all liquids, third week pureed, the forth week soft foods as tolarated.
I found that the atkens shakes are quit tasty and have 20g of proteen in each can. It is recameded to take in about 80g a day witch is kinda tough to eat that amout of food. So the shakes make a nice filler and get your in your proteen.Do not forget the vitamis these two thing are very inportant to keep up good health. I have a question for you,Are you taking your walks and increasing your distance daily. By now you should be at close to a mile or better .
Keep up the great job. YOU ROCK
