Yeah yeah yeah!
Ok, pardon the excess jumpage but I just returned from my PMRI check-up. I am so thrilled and happy that my labs reflect the way I feel. I started off a this time last year with an HbA1c of 7.5, not even my all time high as I was an out of control diabetic. In May that number had dropped to a 6, stayed a 6 in August but today I came in at an incredible 5.1, totally NON diabetic range with room to spare. That is so hard to do usually and I could have never achieved it without benefit of this surgery. With NO meds even!
Fasting blood sugar was 182, then 113, then 99 and finally today as 86!
Total Cholesterol started out last year at 216, then 201 then 177 and today.....140!!
Triglycerides ( ok this one is a mind blower ) Started at 290, then 128, then 115, and today 84..OMG that's EIGHTY FOUR lol..sorry had a happy jump in there
LDL Started at 129 then a jump to 148 ( sorry kit if you're reading this, I forgot I DID have an increase in the beginning and forgot till I just saw the paperwork ) then 122 and now....91!!
My good ole Flinstones Complete or Walmart brand Active Kids seem to be doing the job, all my levels were perfect, right in the mid ranges, including iron ( no separate suppliment for me )
Calcium was good, B-12 on the high side, he told me to knock it back a bit. Protein level right on target too.
Please please PLEASE if you're reading this, listen to one thing I tell you if you listen to nothing else. Use your lab results and health status at your TRUE measurement for success and NOT the scale. Those numbers will fluctuate for many reasons, your labs tell the true tale of how successful and healthy you are, which is the main objective here.
Pretty clothes and fitting in booths and all the things that go with success are wonderful in and of themselves for sure, but remember those are just surface things that , yeah, they make life easier when they are in line with what is considered being 'normal' but don't forget, you are a GREAT person no matter what your level of success is. Don't compare yourself to others, enjoy all your victories both big and small and most of all, enjoy your new lease on life!
Linda
sorry, had to sneak one more in
