Actigall for 6 months?

Hello Cassandra, I guess I am lucky on this part I had the GB on 1/25/05 but had my gallbladder removed 12/29/04 so I did not have to take it. Christie~ 3 weeks post op

I'm so glad you asked about the Actigall, Cassandra. I was coming to the board tonight to inquire about that very thing. I hate the taste! I did actually use baby food peaches this evening, but there is just so much of the powder it one of those capsules. Yuck! I like the idea of hiding it in the spicey V-8. Going to pick up some tomorrow. I can't wait the these next 6 months to be over.

Hi Cassandra, Apple sauce would make me gag. So I tried those pre-made chocolate shakes. I can't remember the name, but any brand you like will work. I would mix the pill in a 1 or 2 oz. cup. Take it like you were doing a shot. Six months goes by fast. Good luck, Bobbie

Hi Cassandra, I tried hiding the Actigall in Hot and Spicey V-8 and it worked, but I didn't really like the extra "spice." I tried putting the Actigall in regular V-8 and found that it also masked the flavor enough to make taking the med painless. So, I'll be using V-8 from now on and getting in vegetables at the same time. Donna

Hi Cassandra, I had my surgery in July of '04 and I found something that seemed to work for me: I would use a tablespoon and pour the actigall on the spoon. Then I would use one of the crystal light drinks -- orange juice worked best for me -- and pour it over top. I would have a glass of the same juice ready to chase it down. I would place the spoon meds/liquid in my mouth and then quickly chase it down with a few sips of the drink. Most times I rarely had the taste of the medicine. Try the drink that works for you and see what happens. The food is not good as it lays on your tongue way to long! Good luck and all the best to you. Peace, Terre
