Hey!!!!!! Just wanted to keep you up to date. I went and saw Dr. Furey today for my cardiology clearance. Everything looked great. My blood pressure was even good. And, this is the good news. According to their scales, I have lost 9 pounds(even with my sneakers on.........just think if I took them off). Even though he said things are fine, he is still sending me for a stress test. This has been scheduled for March 8th. Now, I have a question???? Of course, I am pre-op, Any suggestions on how to get me started on the right track to eating the right things. Dr. Peters has suggested that I lose about 25 pounds before surgery. Lately, I have been in the last supper syndrome and I need to get out quick. Thanks Julie

Keep focused and a positive attitude. You'll be fine. Practice eating with a baby spoon. Try to stretch out your meal for a half an hour. This is not as easy as it sounds. Don't eat & drink at the same time. Wait 20 minutes before and after eating to take sips of water. If you come to the meeting on PMRI support meeting on Saturday, try to plan on Panera's for lunch after. Then I'll be going to Trader Joe's if anyone needs help reading labels or shopping. Small store, lots of choices. Make sure you introduce yourself at the meeting. Both stores are about 6 miles past PMRI and are in the same shopping Ctr. on Rt 202. ((HUGS)) Elissa
