My picture!

I just realized when I post that my picture comes up. This is a post op pic that Elissa took. I do not like it at all. Did anyone else feel this way. Christie

OH YEAH!!! You are NOT alone!!! I couldn't even look at my post op pics before surgery and even after surgery it took me a while. Then I went through a period that I liked to have my picture taken to compare to my pre-op pics. Now I am back to not really wanting a camera around me ... body image can be a hard thing to deal with sometimes. But I think the camera helps us keep everything into perspective and help us better see ourselves. And even now when I look at my post op pics, all I am seeing is "fat". I know in my head what size I am in, and yet all I see is my stomach which is all otta whack (fat). Not really sure when I will get this straight in my head. But to answer your question, yes, many of us do not like our pre-op pics or even our post-op pics.

You will only appreciate this old picture down the road. This is the old you. We're waiting for the new one to emerge. Everyday you will change and eventually morpf into a beautiful butterfly. Christie you are doing great. How do you feel? Keep up the good job. Elissa
