Febuary Roll Call
Since I haven't been to any meetings recently I figured this would be the best way to post how I have been doing! yall join in and tell me watcha been doing, where you been and your goals for the month! so here it goes
Charles, 8 months out, down 168 Lbs! Goals for the month, lose 9-12lbs and drink more water! Work out 2 days a week and snow ski 2 days a week. Take a 3 day trip to ski the ski resorts in western PA. ( I have been working at small family ski mountain near Harrisburg PA since November and working my weekday job), Also enjoy meeting Snow bunnies! Whoo Hoo!
WOW, Charles!!
There is no way that I can beat that.
I'm almost 10 months out. I haven't lost anything in more than 3 months.
I've been very faithful to the gym. I have changed my workouts to include more aerobic exercise and less weight lifting, So that I don't build new muscle. I've lost a total of 85 pounds since surgery, so I'm not complaining.....well, yes I am.
I just want to get rid of another 25 pounds...a pound a month would be great! I'll just keep at it, and keep changing up my workouts till I start losing again. Drinking lots of water, 100 grams of protein a day.

Ken,
You are doing WONDERFUL my friend! Truly wonderful!!! The last time I saw you, you looked like you needed to move out of the WL category and into the support person role!!! Truly you looked wonderful.
Please do not get down on yourself, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. You have been working out, and it is obvious that you have lost. So if it is not showing up on the scales, it likely is showing up on the tape measure. BTW - Have you taken your measurements lately? Remember how I was not losing anything for what seemed forever?? ... and then all of the sudden, WHAM I lost 4 inches off my stomach alone in December? Out of no where, I dropped several sizes in pants with NO real weight loss! AS a matter of fact, I just purchased my first pair of size 4-6 work-out pant a couple of weeks ago??? Go figure!!! Truly the working out can do funny things to the scales sometimes, but the true measure is how our clothes are fitting and if we are losing inches. And remember that the closer you get to goal the harder it is to lose those pounds. I think it was when I was about 25 from goal that my weight loss stalled out also.
Hang in there Ken, you are doing an awesome job!!!
Hugs,
Tammy
Hi Charles,
Sounds like you are doing a great job! We are planning a ski trip to Blue Mountain later this month. I've never been before but my youngest son is a board duuuude lol.
I'm just shy of 11 months out and am down 110 pounds give or take the day. So far so good. I feel wonderful! My loss has been pretty steady along the way, slower than some, faster than some. It is slowing down now. I'm always working on keeping the exercise level up and the protein first. Faithful to my vits and calcium and water too.
I buy clothes easily now, and no longer shop in the plus sizes, however I need more money to keep up with it all No more meds, no more fat related feeling like crap. It's a good life!

Talk about a great lost and found story!!! Your LOSS is incredible and your new FOUND love for skiing is fantastic. I too have found that one of the best parts of losing weight, is that it no longer affects me doing the things I love. And I am now finding things I love that I never considered before because of my weight!
Keep up the good work and keep hitting those slopes!!! BTW - it is snowing here this morning ... totally took me by surprise. Part of the whole post-op life, guess I haven't taken much time lately to turn on the TV to check out the weather!!!
Oh and be careful of those little snow bunnies ... one may try to snatch you up before you know it!!!
