Don't forget to track those milestones!

The other day I was feeling a little down and reviewing my milestones since surgery really made a difference. Whether you're fresh out of surgery or you've got some time in this program, I really encourage you to keep a journal of your milestones. By milestones, I'm not just talking about weight loss. I'm talking about those "quality of life" things that we sometimes take for granted. Here are a few things I've experienced and I'm only 35 days post-op: 1. Belts are too big 2. I can sit in any chair - even ones with arms 3. I can fit into a restaurant booth - without stomach or cleavage rubbing against the table 4. My watch band is getting too big 5. My eyeglass frames are too wide - keep slipping off my face 6. I can tie my shoes - I can even touch my toes 7. I can walk next to someone in a stairwell - folks used to stop to let me go by due to lack of room 8. Doing simple tasks without sweating 9. My wedding ring fits again - it used to squeeze my finger 10. My cats don't curl up on my stomach anymore because they keep sliding off - not enough room for both of them I'm really enjoying this experience! Thanks to all of you for your continued encouragement, advice and support! Cassandra

Hey Cassandra, I like to call those milestones "Minor Miracles..." It is so great to hear all those "little" things that you have done. And we are probably the only group of people who can understand the significance of those achievements. Many more great things shall happen. I just had a vendor who was giving out shirts give me a "M" and asked if it was too big! What a laugh! Your bud Rob
