Olive Garden
I went to Olive Garden a few weeks ago and they refused to let me order off of the children's menu. I even spoke with the manager at that time. I e-mailed the main office with my complaint in not accommodating people with special needs.and low and behold..... I received a call from the manager from the Olive Garden located in Dover. He apologised and said that in the future he will accommodate gastric bypass customers. Besides that he even invited me and my husband to have dinner on the house.
Way to go Karen
I am proud of you, you know alot of times I don't even bother asking. I just order a regular meal and take the rest home, sometimes I eat it and sometimes I don't. I just hate the funny looks you get when you tell them about gastric bypass and show the card, they act like you just got off the ship from mars.
So you go girl, I am proud..... Take care Dana
I don't know about you Dana but I can't eat too many left overs my stomach is really sensitive and being cost conscious I don't want to buy something that is way out of proportion to what I need.
Most of the restaurants let me order off of the children's menu. It doesn't bother me in the least to ask for a children's portion. I am proud that I made a decision to gain back control of my life and what is more important I am happy with the results. By the way how are you doing?
At that time I even showed him my card. I told them that most of the restaurants in the Dover area accomodate my needs but at that time the manager was not responsive. Thanks Ginger, I might pick up one for Christine though. I think she might have lost hers. By the way, we went to the roller rink last Sunday and she fell and broke her shoulder. What luck..... I am really concerned because of the calcium. It makes me think if she actually takes the supplements that she needs. Oh well just a mother's worry I guess. She certainly is old enough to do this on her own. Sorry I couldn't come to the meeting, I love seeing everyone and the great progress they have made. Something always comes up. For the past week the whole family has been fighting the virus. Take care and look forward to seeing you soon.
