Hello, I thought I could ask everyone here. Has anyone experienced change with their monthly friend after this surgery and if so may I ask what that would be? My monthly friend visited which I am upset about because I go for my 2 week on Mon. 2/7. But it seems like nothing settles in my stomach and my cramps are ssssooooooo bad. (Worse than usually) Needing a women's opnion. Christie

Hi Christie, I started the day of surgery and have been like clock work ever since. I do have alot more cramping, but less days of actual bleeding. I am also exercising more regualary than before. Before surgery I would come right home from work and go to bed, every month it was like a sickness. Now I am more active and I feel better. I just take tylenol for cramping. Hope that helps, take care Dana

Christie - Yeah, I've had the same problem - nothing settles and some heavy cramping. I'm not much help..but, I know of others who have had similar problems. Good luck! Valerie

Christie, I had the terrible cramping periods for two months then it went away. I have not had it since September and personally hope it stays away. The cramps were so bad I thought the endometriosis was back! My Gyn is no help so I don't bother to go to him to get advice. I know my hormones are in a flux so I will wait it out. I wi**** would just go away forever. I hate to take pills and tylenol did not help me. I hope it helps you. If not go to Dr. and get something stronger. Debbie

Pre-Op, I was extremely regular, no cramping ... etc. Post-Op, I started right after surgery, which was a couple of weeks early (never happened to that degree before, nor since). My first couple of months after surgery I too had some cramping and heavier periods. Then my period completely stopped for a couple of months I believe. Right after that, I went right back to a regular schedule, only I am every 29 days now instead of 28. Every once in a while I will be a couple of days early, but not often. The thing that I have most noticed is that the length and flow is so much less these days. I kinda liken it to someone who is under some stress when they are training hard (exercise) and their periods cease or slow down remarkably. My suggestion to all who are have yet to have surgery is to take protection with you to the hospital, regardless of when you are due. I know this does not include you Christy, since you already had your surgery, but just wanted to throw that out there for all the other pre-ops who may not have already heard that. About the tummy being unsettled ... that is not uncommon for man or woman at your point in the post op period. Just take it easy, chew really well and once you find something that works, stick with it. Also mention it to the doc to see if he/she has other suggestions. I found tha****er was real hard on me initially, but if I heated it up with a little bit of lemon and splenda it sat real well and helped me so much. But right out of the hospital, the very thing that worked the best for me was crushed ice. It truly was an experience finding what would work at differing stages of the game. Oh and BTW just because it worked for me, does not mean it will work for you. Nor does just because it worked for me yesterday, mean it is going to work for me today. Weird, I know ... but all part of the game for me anyway. Sure hope your cramps lessen up and your tummy settles down for you real soon.
