Day 3, No Smoking
Gigee, tough time of year to stop. Being cooped up in the winter is especially hard. Get out and about. Try to stay especially busy. I know how you feel. Smoking was a big part of my life a few yrs ago. I looked for my self-hynosis tapes for you, I guess I gave them to someone. I couldn't find them. I could listen to it and go into a deep state. That's why it was easy for me that time. I was catatonic(sp) for a month. A walking talking zombie. I remember replacing the cigarettes with strawberry twisters. Course I don't eat them anymore so now I eat SF popsicles. I go from 1 habit to the next. You'll find your own groove. Anyway hang tough and try not to kick yourself too much. Elissa
In comparison as to what I would have normally smoked I guess part of me should be proud. Oh, and I have strawberry twizzlers. I got them last night especially for this purpose. After I chawed on them a while I realized that I was full. So last nights dinner menu was twizzlers. sheesh. Gotta curb that one right away!
New day, new attitude. No smokes today for me!
Thanks so much for your encouragement and ideas of options!
Gigee
Hi Gigee,
I have been smoke free since Jan 1, 2005 2:13 PM . I was a smoker since 18 years old. 12 years of smoking and I had to quit for surgery. I tried for 4 months prior to surgery but keep finding a way to get a smoke. I quit cold turkey this time.
The first 2 weeks in murder!!! By day 17, it got better. Now, I don't think too much about them. I love the new freedom I have from them.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good smoke cloud to walk through.
Keep on trying ~ it's the first step!
Trash all matches, lighters, ash trays, butts (we both know that we turn to them when we need a hit) and don't look back!
Best wishes!
