Hello All, Feb.11, thursday My daughter and son and I will be driving to Flordia, Christa, my daughter works for a horse farm who will be showing in Ocala Flordia for 5 weeks. She is still in school and can't go this year for the whole time, so she asked me to take her down for the weekend of her 18th birthday. My husband hates to travel, but told us to have fun. And we plan to. I just need some idea's on how to get my protien and water and everything else in. We will be leaving Feb 11 and heading home on Monday feb 14. So any of you travelers out there have any suggestions. Thanks, Dana

Hi Dana, I would keep things very basic. First off, when you're eating on the road it's pretty easy to find a good choice. Most places have some form of chicken or beef, maybe a chef's salad, that sort of thing. In the car pack a small cooler with water bottles to keep you hydrated while on the road, makes for more pee stops sometimes, but it beats retaining water and the discomfort that goes along with that, or worse yet, dehydration and the problems it causes. You could pack some protein bars, soy chips, string cheese etc. You don't say if you're staying in a hotel, but if you are, hit a convenience store and grab some yogurt if you eat it or cheese to keep in your cooler in your room. You could carry some bottles of Isopure and do double duty with the liquids and protein then you wouldn't have to be as concerned that any meals you may be eating in a restaurant have a high protein content. Above all, don't stress over it. Go, enjoy your family, enjoy your food and enjoy your trip! I bet you'll do just fine. I spent a week in a tent in the mountains at 3 months out and did just fine. have fun! Linda

Oh Dana, good for you... I agree with Linda, the Isopure is good but pack lighter bottles to pour it in. I find, when I'm thirsty and that's what I brought to my sons' sports events, it easier to get the Isopure down. It will help keep you hydrated and packs quite a protein punch. Linda gave all my guesses, one more thing is that skippy makes a squeeze bottle of their peanut butter, but I think it has a lot of sugar so exercise some moderation with that. At first, I thought you were going to the Superbowl! Your trip sounds great, have fun. Dianne

Hey Dana, I think Linda about covered it, but you can also buy the individual packs of Crystal Lite. And while in Florida you can try the broiled fish.... Tuna salad is an easy way to pack in extra protein also. Enjoy the trip. Rob

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. We are staying at a hotel for three nights in Ocala Flordia. The room has a small fridge, so I should do just fine. And Rob, I will try the fish, I love all kinds of seafood. Thanks again, Dana
