Thanks to everyone who sent the clown. A big thanks to Nicki my angel, I want to thank you for everything!! I am feeling a little sore but I thought I would get a post up to say all is well. My chest hurts some but I think with coughing and walking....I am going to relax. Can someone help me to remember what I am to be doing now that I am home? Thanks and (((hugs))) Christie

Hi Christie, Welcome home, sounds like you're doing just fine. Now that you're home, just make sure you get your rest, but not too much, you need to be up and walking on a regular basis. Let your body guide you. Make sure you do your breathing exercises to keep those lungs clear. Take note of how much you're drinking, you don't want to become dehydrated. If you have any specific questions, check your discharge sheet that they gave you, any special instructions should be written there and above and beyond that, I'd call the office for anything else. Get ready to start your puree soon and enjoy your new life, this is it! Linda

Welcome home, Christie! Sounds like you are doing great. It will all come back to you. Keep pumping in mounds of water and start planning a protein puree diet. The rest will come to you in time. You need to develop a routine. It's important to keep walking to avoid blood clots, even if its just walking circles around the house at first. Check your discharge sheet and refresh your memory, but I think walking to avoid blood clots and keeping hydrated is the two most important things. Journal all your proteins and water (all your intake) on the little food diary that they gave you. Good luck. Dianne
