How did you ever pass the physc test?? I bet you wanted to freak them out just a little?? I went to a hypnotist (sp) about 15 yrs ago to quit smoking. It worked for me. One of the best thing I ever did for my health. Of course I gained alot of weight after which wasn't good. Good luck with the smoking Gigee. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Your heart & lungs will love you too. ((HUGS)) Elissa

If only you knew how hard it was to resist acting the fool in the physc test *grin*. btw, I gave up trying to spell those medical words long ago lol. smoking is messy. it stinks. it's expensive. oh how i love to smoke. sad huh? yesterday they asked me how long i've smoked. i said.. let's see.. i'm 43.. hmmm... started at 13. 30 years! this won't be easy. i am going to try the patches and see how they work for me. thank you and keep those positive thoughts coming! *hugs* Gigee

Thank you Dana. I did it once before in my life for 4 years. I remember it being tough. But I'm guessing if I did it once I'm sure there's still some gumption left in this old girl lol Gigee

Hi Gigee, I know how you feel about the smoking. I was a smoker and quit for 5 years only to start again. I struggled with it for 3 more years before I was finally able to stop again. I'm pleased to say I have just celebrated 2 years smoke free. I made myself quit for 6 months before I even called the doc for my first consult, I knew if I couldn't make that change, I wouldn't be able to live up to the lifestyle changes needed as a post-op. I was really motivated and that makes all the difference. It is so hard for long term smokers. I smoked heavily for over 25 years. You are gonna do just fine tho because you are highly motivated as well. Of course you will have those moments...lol I still have them sometimes but in the end you will do what you need to do. Quittin' the smokes ain't fer sissy's! Way to go! Linda

One thing for sure. I would love to breath better. Not such a bad goal eh? Thank you Linda for the encouragement. I am needing it! Gigee

I was a 4 pack a day smoker for 25 years. I quit 12 years ago and now do not have an urge to do so. If you are really convinced that the surgery is what you have to do to change your life then you will have no problem quiting your habit. If you need help or someone to help I am here and in your corner
