Kind of scary ( warning, kind of graphic )
Hi all,
I have kind of a scary thing right now. Saturday I discovered I was dealing with a hemorrhoid ( UGH, sorry this is so disgusting ) I haven't had one since my last baby almost 14 years ago. No big deal, it was/is a bit uncomfortable but you do what you can to help it. Anyway, things were much less painful and getting better. This morning after using the bathroom I discovered blood. Bright red and it seemed to be surface blood I guess.
I have no pain, I don't feel sick, no temperature etc. etc. I don't remember having this during the pregnancy, then again it was a long time ago and I may have forgotten. Has anyone had anything like this? Of course I called the docs office right away, they called me back and I have an appointment to see Dr. Peters on Monday. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him yet, but have heard very nice things about him. UGH, what a way to meet someone huh lol.
Any insight you can give is appreciated, and if you have an annecdotal reply you'd rather the world not see, please feel free to e-mail me. [email protected] ( incase the e-mail link here doesn't work )
I get very weirded out by things like this sometimes. Like all of us, I aim for smooth sailing on this trip. Thankfully I haven't had the bowel issues that some have struggled with. Thank you flaxseed, water and exercise. Problems in this area are especially scary for me so thanks for listening and I hope I didn't gross you out too badly.

Lots of times when you have a big one they'll open that puppy up! Sometimes they open up on their own! Could be what happened with you this morning.
Took me 10 years to go see a doctor about mine cause I didn't want anyone looking at my "ahem" hiney . So when I finally had to go I chose a gastrologist by the name of Dr. Butt! Who better to check em out? He was awesome btw.
Hang in there sweetie. Monday is just around the corner. And I am so glad you are not experiencing any pain.

Hey Linda -
There is such a thing as a paranoidal cyst (not sure of spelling), they can cause a lot of bright red blood. There are generally located just below the tail bone. My aunt & I both had this...I thought it was a hemorroid also, when it took me a while to stop the bleeding (less than 1/2 hour), I called my mom in to check it out.
I was fortunate, no surgery needed & only had a problem twice with mine, my aunt had to have surgery. Now, for you..let's hope it's a quick easy hemorroid.
Aren't you glad you asked?
Valerie
Hi Linda,
Ok
well I actually had this happen to me before. Normally I get fissures (little cuts) teeny ones and when I um... wipe... I will see a little bit of blood. But one time I had the same thing... bright red blood and more than usual. I ended up going to the obgyn and they checked me out. and turned out to just be a fissure and it was just a little bigger than the usual and just a little irritated. They say when its bright red that its usually not bad and just surface/hemmroid type of issue. When its dark red brownish blood ...thats when it could possibly be more serious. So bright red is actually better Oh and it wasnt the usual wipe amount it was quite a bit. I even noticed a bit on my um... bowel movements. Hope everything turns out fine Sounds like it will... But I get freaked out with stuff like that too. I was real freaked out about it actually! Hang in there!
