Clear liquids???
Yes, chicken broth, especially freshly homemade broth was really helpful for me. Homemade you can really control the sodium content, but I used both homemade and store bought Mrs Grass and left the noodles out when I cooked it. If you decide on homemade, just be sure to strain the chicken and veggies and feed them to your family or puree them and put them in the freezer for when you are back home and on purees and perhaps not much in the mood to "cook". I also found that I LOVED hot crystal light lemonade with a bit of splenda. This is something that really helped me bunches after surgery as well. Found if I put something like this on my tummy first thing in the morning it helped to relax my pouch and make it far more agreeable. Plain water was really hard on me early out, so this really helped me.
Something else I have found that is good is taking 8 oz of ho****er and adding a spoon or so of sf jello. Never thought it would be good, but I find I really like it, especially now with me being so cold all the time.
Wishing you the best with your liquid phase and with your surgery and journey.
You can do sugare-free hot chocolate as long as you cut if with a lot of water. Also, I hated the taste of "broth" so I did strained "soup". For example, I took a can of chicken noodle soup, strained off the chicekn and the noodles and just had the soup. It tastes a lot better than plain broth.
Hope this helps!
