So...whatcha gonna do during the storm?
well lets see My husband and son are out with the snow blower and tractor.... I'm not sure if they are working or playing lol. The girls and i made Potato soup and are getting ready to make a cheesecake bars, im going to try it with splenda and see how it comes out. then we are having family game night. We usually do it on sunday but it seems like a great day for it. Hope everyone is doing wellllll
Well, I can't believe it but I made it to the meeting. I've been away for awhile, it seems. I was a few minutes late for the meeting and the roads had already started to get pretty heavily covered and slippery. I stopped at the Superfresh for guinea pig food on the way home and don't plan to drive anywhere, anytime soon. I bought hot choc at docs office Friday during lunch and am now set. I've shovelled the walk and drive-way twice now, can't tell it at all. I absolutely love all this beautiful snow, just wi**** didn't have to stop travel and modern civilization, lol. This is a heavy, dry snow as I walked down a few blocks with the kids to slide on a tube thing and the tube just sat there, didn't even move (not even with the kids on it - I made them go first to test it, lol).
Everyone at the meeting looks so good. It was so good to see you all and I miss the others.
Christie, I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday and anxiously awaiting a post about you. You'll do fine. You seem very informed and interested in the process.
Joe, I have my EAGLES stuff up and waiting for kick off tomorrow. Of course, I'll be on my warm comfy couch with two noisy boys. Hope you are able to keep warm. After the game, post and give us the details-- well after your fingers thaw out, that is. High hopes...
Well we've rented Signs, Supersize Me, Dodgeball and Rainman and if the mood hits me I may even clean the house.
Hoping this is finding everyone well.
Dianne
Hi everyone
I chickened out on going to the PMRI meeting. Just call me a snow bunny.
I stayed in and watched Steven King movies on TV. I saw "Red Rose" and "It". I was actually able to watch them since it wasn't night time. I am such a scarity cat. I cuddled under the blanket and sipped hot chocolate.
My dog, Zsa Zsa, went outside to play in the snow every hour on the hour. The snow brings out the puppy in my dog.

I am soooo addicted to the meetings. I hate to miss them. You'd think I was having a hot date or something. I got up early, showered, did my hair and put on what little makeup I wear. The snow started to come down before the meeting even started. Gabrielle was a few minutes into it and my cell phone started to ring. It was Charlie telling me the roads are already covered to Come home. I said ok and that I'd take the main roads not the back roads. Well 1st I turned the cell off. No way was I gonna leave yet. Meeting was good. Found out why I am always cold now. Lack of carbohydrates. No more bread and potatoes to keep the fire burning. Gosh that's all I used to eat, no wonder I was always HOT. I thought it was just because of my age. No more HOT FLASHES either. Don't miss the sweats at all. The meeting was all about sugar do's & don't. Got a few new recipes to try too. We all socialized for a few minutes, updated some pictures, then took off. The ride home was slow but steady. It was slippery, but, if you took your time it wasn't bad. The rest of the day I stayed bundled up warm & toasty. watched TV which I don't do too often. I made a chocolate cake for hubby, made him very happy. Life is good. Til the next time. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Hi Elissa
I did not realize that the carbs are what keep us warm. Since surgery, I have been feeling the cold. I thought it was because I had less fat under my skin. And now that you mentioned it, I also haven't had any hot flashes lately. hmmm. Interesting.....
If you get a chance, please share the new recipes.
Glad to hear that you got home safely.
((Hugs)) Rose
Hey, Elissa, dear! So, when do you think they'll offer that particular subject again? I'm very interested. In fact, I was all ready to go, myself and then my 17 y/o reversed roles with me ans said, "Mom, this stuff is going to stick because of the freezing temp. and it's going to be slippery. Do you think you really should go? It's only going to be worse when your meeting is over." First, I was like, "awwwwww...my son!" then I thought about it and weenied out!! Darn, I wish I had gone now! I missed out on good info and seeing folks and I could've met Pink Dots, too! I hope the sugar topic is offered again and soon! Take care! Sandi
