Hi! Just a quick note to let folks know that, at 10 days post-op, I feel fantastic! I had no idea that I would be feeling this good or would have so much energy! I'm walking every day and sometimes have to force myself to sit still and let my body heal. It's amazing! The discoveries are so much fun! I thought something was wrong with my car's seat-belt this morning. It took me several minutes to realize that it just wasn't stretched to the maximum like it was pre-op! There's actually some slack in my seat-belt. Imagine! I can go up and down the stairs in my townhouse without needing to stop and catch my breath! Who ever heard of such a thing?!? It's going to sound weird but it feels like I'm moving at an excelerated speed! I'm even considering training for the marathon in Hawaii to raise money for Stroke prevention. I am so happy (as long as I ignore my husband) and so grateful to each of you for giving me the support and prayers that I needed for a positive outcome! Thank you! Cassandra

Beautiful!!! So glad you're feeling soooo fine! Me, too! I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and doing fabulously. Hey, go try on some old clothes you haven't been able to wear in awhile (if you have any ... I have a closet full) I did just that this morning and oh my goodness! I've dropped 2 sizes, depending on the cut! Woooohoooo! Rock on! Sandi

Wonderful. I know exactly what you mean. The only way you know you had surgery is because if the incisions. Keep up the walking and good work. I know exactly what you mean about the car seat. I am almost 3 months (10/20/04) and can even feel the difference in my seat at work. IT IS REALLY AMAZING...................Congrats MotherLove

Hi Cassandra, Glad you are feeling well. Make sure you rest. When I first came out from surgery, I was just like you, and I had open. I was filled w/ so much energy. The fact that I had surgery reared its head in month 3. I was so tired, I just knew something was wrong. I felt that my blood work would be crazy. But everything was great and my body just needed to rest. Have fun. I would love to train for a marathon. Let me know if you need a training buddy, once you get a little farther out. Can't afford to go to Hawaii right now, but I would definitely train w/ you. Congrats again! ~Shelly

Thanks Cassandra for the positive update. You know, pre surgery we all are anxious and nervous of the unknown. After surgery we can only feel good and it will even get better & better. Remember that even though your hubby acts like a jerk, I'm sure he really was worried for you. Now that you have sooooo much energy he'd better keep on his toes. You'll run rings around him. It'll be hard for him to realize that you are gonna be a different person now. Hope he can keep up with you. Good luck to you girl. You deserve it. All the little things like the seat belt will make you happy. Belive me when I tell you that we do understand and appreciate all these moments. Keep sharing. ((HUGS)) Elissa
