Hey family! I was approved by the insurance compnay to begin my pre-op clinicians visits and I start my Life Skills class in a few weeks..... Meanwhile, I have began to cut back on a lot of my favorite foods in which I am doing ok. Well, here I go and wish me well. I am soooooooo nervous but anxious to begin my journey.

Hi Lys Congrats on getting insurance approval. Time flies quickly while you get all your doctor appointments in. April will be here before you know it. If you are not doing so already, I would suggest starting to take a multi-vitamin, some calcium and some iron to build your system up. The first things that I gave up were real coffee, soda and straws. (The straws were the hardest thing to give up.) It was no fun drinking cold liquids without a straw. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Rose

Thank you Rose..... Since the coordinator at PMRI place set up my all my clinician visits, do I need to contact my surgeons office to let them know? I have read where patients had to constant call the insurance company and offices to make sure their surgery was approved and schedule. Is this true?

Hi Lys I would contact the surgeon's office to let them know the dates of all your appointments. Have you seen the Pulmonary doctor and the Cardiologist yet? Dr. Irgau's office handled all my insurance paperwork. Once all your appointments are lined up, they can give you a tentative date for surgery. Keep us posted. Rose

Congratulations Lys. I am so glad I am already finished all of that. My surgery is scheduled for 1/25. Just wait time will fly by and the next thing you will know is that you will be on here posting you have a date. Take care and God Bless! Christie
