Hi Everyone- I wanted to touch base with everyone, it has been a while since I have posted. I do read a lot more than, I post. I am so grateful, I am back to working full-time and then some. I am getting back to my social life too. I have finally got this residual pain under control with the help of my family doctor. He put me on the pain patch called DURAGESIC. I did have a bad spell from over doing it and was in a lot of pain(last week). I went on MEDROL DOSE PACK for 6 days. It is a form of predizone, which is anti inflamitory, but NOT an NSAID. It is safe to take for a very short time, per my doctor. I have also discovered TRAMADOL, it is a pain med-a lot like TYLENOL but it is prescription strength. OK, why am I sharing all this. I hear some of you are still in some pain and can't take NSAIDS and tylenol isn't cutting it. These are the products that I have found and approved with my doctor. Now I work with my family doctor on the pain. I did go to a pain specialist, and decided that I have the pain under enough control that I didn't want to presue that road right now. I go back to my family doctor on Tuesday and we will see what he has to say. I have also been doing Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Therapy. They seem to be helping and getting me stronger. There is a chance that I will be able to start walking on the treadmill at the gym-soon. The plan is as I get stronger my body will be able to tolerate all my movements and won't cause any pain. It is so unconditioned from all the multiple surgeries last year. PLEASE speak with your primary care doctor or your speciality doctor if you need help with pain control. There are other products out there, you just have to have a doctor who will take the time and research it out for you. Also, with this being the cold season, becareful on what products you take. You can always ask the pharamicist too. I know that usually TYLENOL COLD/SINUS products are safest. But some of you may have to take an antibiotic, just becareful. When in doubt always ask. In the past I have been able to take CIPRO and TEQUIN. Does anyone have a list of all the medication products that we are allowed to take? Tammy? Can we have those re-posted again. It have been some time. OK-Now back to my update. I again would like to tell everyone thank you for the prayers when I was going through my difficult year. I believe that 2005 is going to be a better year for me. I really learned who my true friends are. They gave me unconditional support! I will NEVER be able to express my thanks enough. I didn't know that I was cared about so much until then. I have felt so loved from you. Thanks a Million! This year is the beginning of a NEW HEALTHY BEGINNING for me! Nicki

Hi Nicki, It sure was good to see you yesterday. You look great!!!! I hope 2005 is a great year for you and all of us. I am doing good, I have lost 60 pounds. I do have to get a medical alert braclet ordered. Is there a web site I can go to? I forgot to pick up a brochure in the office yesterday. Take care! Dana

Hello Nicki, Glad to hear you are doing much better. We were in the hopsital at the the same time and kept a check on each other. I am REALLY REALLY glad that you are doing better. I haven't been on the boards as much since my surgery. Like you more reading than posting. I was out on holiday vacation following my surgery - ain't that guts But anyway thanks for sharing all the useful information....it is important to see what others are going through and see what advice is out there. Re-posting the list is a great idea too. Good to hear from you. Take care and God continually bless us all. MotherLove
