Sunday, I had a birthday dinner for hubby his brothers and sister's and their spouses came. This has been a tradition for years, for all of his brothers and sisters. However for the past two years I went on strike and told my husband I wasn't doing it. Let me give you a little history. I have a sister-inlaw who we nicknamed betty crocker, she thinks no one can cook but her. She always arrives an hour early, to poke her nose in the kitchen to see what I have cooking, and in the past I was never ready on time. It was very stress-full, so I told my husband no more. Well, since surgery I actually love to cook. So I decided to give it a try this year. So sunday was the day, I got up around 7am went to the grocery store, came home and did four desserts (in the past I just used to buy them) this year I down loaded dessert recipes I made almost better than sex cake, chocolate chip cake, blueberry dump cake, and peach dump cake, and no one dumped!!!!!! After I made the desserts I got busy on the meal I cooked two roasts, put baby carrots with them. I had mashed potatoes, yams, baked beans, mac and cheese, brocolli, and creamed mushrooms and rolls. My sister in-law arrived 45 mins early to find me washing a few pots, everything was in order and ready to be searved, I was sooooooo happy all went well, she even gave me compliments on how good everything was. So now I am thinking I might have a retirement dinner for my husband *****tires the end of Feb. I really like to cook now. I am so greatful that I was able to have this surgery, I feel great and my energy gets better every day. Take care everyone Dana

I sure do have leftovers, come on over but I have to warn you it is the stuff we shouldn't touch. Like dump cake!!!!! It was easy to make but didn't go as good as the better than sex cake. Dana

I knew you had it in you Dana!!! Anytime you wanna cook for me, just let me know. Seems I have not had much of an appetite the past few days. Nice change from the ravenous appetite I had during the Holidays - well at least for Chex Mix! Now about that Better than Sex cake ... isn't it WONDERFUL. I have actually thought of making it no sugar added. But am afraid that I will eat too much of it ... and even sugar free, it would not be calorie free. BTW - Hubby has asked me to rename this desert ... and he says as good as it is ... it does not reflect that well on him!!! Now what in the world could he mean by that??? Hugs, Tammy
