Hi everyone Did you ever have a day when you basically had to force yourself to eat and drink? This is definately a new one for me. It is already after 3pm and all I have had so far is 16 oz of carb control milk (24 grams of protein) and 4oz of pumpkin unjury sf/ff pudding (10 grams of protein) I am still on my second glass of hot lemon water. At the rate I am going, I will need to be up really late tonight to get in all my protein and water for the day. Maybe this is a good sign that my habits are changing. Do you think it is too early to celebrate that food is losing its grip over me and that I am gaining control over my food issues? Take that food I am gaining contol. Rose

Hi Rose. Yes I had a day like that yesterday. Only got in 1 shake and 2 meals. Boy was I slipping. My 2nd meal (roast beef) made me sick for 2 hours then I was afraid to eat or drink anything else. I am trying better today. I think I'm going to give roast beef a rest for awhile. That is the 2nd time it did that to me. Go figure. Try not to beat yourself up. Today is another day and then we'll have tomorrow to try all over again. I was telling my hubby tonight I'm glad certain foods still do that to me. Gives me the reality check I need and reminds me how lucky I am that my tool is working for me still. I am blessed. Hope to see you at the next meeting?? ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi Elissa I wound up staying awake til about 11:30 pm. I got in about 80 grams of protein and 5 glasses of water. I found out earlier in the evening that all protein is not created equal. When I went to my Life Skills class, we were told that each ounce of protein equalled 9 grams of protein. So, I never bothered to check the protein levels on a can of tuna fish or canned chicken. Thinking that it was all protein, I just assumed that each ounce was 9 grams of protein. Well, you can guess my surprize when I was making my pureed chicken salad and noticed that my theory was very incorrect. Canned tuna has 13 grams of protein for 2 oz of tuna and not 18 grams like I had thought. Canned chicken has 9 grams of protein for 2 oz of chicken and not 18 grams like I thought. So on the days I had pureed tuna fish or pureed chicken my calculations were all incorrect. Now I am wondering if any of my other calculations were understated. I am so glad that I am seeing the nutritionist on Wednesday. I am going to have a page of questions for her. Hope she's had her coffee before I get there. I think she is going to need it. I sure hope you are feeling better today. Did you have the roast beef dry or with a gravy? I have heard that beef is the hardest food on our tummy. Do any other foods bother you like that? Does it eventually go away that you can eat the food without any problems? I should be at the meeting on Monday unless it snows. Take care. Hugs. Rose
