Hi everyone again I was just invited to go on a day trip to New York next Monday by two of my best and closest friends. Any advice on how I should handle getting in all my protein. I am still on a puree diet. Should I bring a back pack filled of protein drinks (Crystal lite and unflavored unjury) How much unflavored unjury do I add to the crystal light. We are hoping to see a show and then stop for lunch. It will probably be an all day event. Last week when we went for our Christmas lunch, I had a small cup of soup and then later sipped on some hot chocolate. (I brought a hot chocolate packet from dr's office with me and asked for a cup of ho****er when they were ordering dessert.) Rose

Rose, If it were me, I would get some pre-made/pre bottled protein drinks (RTD - ready to drink) to carry along or bring baggies of my protein powder and mix with water when needed or the premade packets from the docs office. I would not carry my home pre-mixed drinks for very long after mixing. There is some thought that the protein starts to grow bacteria after being out for as little as 30 minutes. When I go on trips, I like to carry a little cooler with ice with my RTD protein drinks to keep them cold. I also like to take the hot chocolate packets from the doctors office and add them to ho****er. Another option is the oatmeal and soup packets. If you are not sure about how you react to certain foods at this point, be careful with cream soups at restaurants. Sometimes they contain a lot of fat, and some people have trouble dumping on fats. I tended to stick with what I knew for a long time when eating out, especially when far from home. Nothing as horrible as dumping away from home. I had an episode just today where something did not agree with me and I had a major dump. I have felt bad for hours. Just now starting to come back around. This happens rarely for me these days, but every once in a while, my pouch rares its head and shows me who is boss. Anyway, pack plenty of bottled water, plenty of protein packets or pre bottled (RTD) protein and good walking shoes. Have a wonderful time and be sure to let us know how it went for you. Hugs, Tammy
