Here we go again...
Sorry about the topic. Diarrhea. I had it Thursday, controlled it till Sunday when it kicked backed in again. I took Kaopectate yesterday, that worked until now. I just went and it seemed to be dark green almost black and it was just a little. Is this normal and why the sudden change in color.

Michele, I certainly know where you are coming from. Pre-WLS I had IBS. Commonly known as Irritable bowel. I took meds for it. Sometimes it helped, but most times it didn't. Post WLS I haven't had the big "D" at all. I have not been constipated either. I eat a small bowel of oatmeal everyday and have experienced regularity for the first time in my life. YIPEEEEE!!!!! I contribute it to all the water I drink, lack of sugars, fats & carbs. Hope you don't have the flu. You gotta keep an eye on this now cause you will dehydrate faster. Try to get in tons of water or hot cocoa, tea & crystal lite. Call the Dr's in the morning. They can guide you as to what you will need to do. Elissa
Michele,
Just checking in with you ... how are you doing? Did you call the docs? If not, and you are still having the same symptoms, you should really think about calling the docs ... these symptoms warrant a call IMHO non medical opinion. Also, I have a question for you ... are we allowed to take Kaopectate? It is not on my list ... so I didn't know. If the docs gave the okay on it, I would like to add it. I have been leery of anything that will cause the bowels to block, even if just a bit? Not really sure how Kaopectate works ... sorry for my ignorance, but thanks for the information.
Hope to read real soon that all is well with you.
Hugs,
Tammy
Thanks for the input. I did speak with Dr. Wynn about 4 yesterday. She said it sounded like a viral thing and if it doesn't get better in 48 hours to call my PCP. I was kind of glad to hear that and it not being something serious. So I'll give it till tomorrow and then call my PCP if there's no changes. As for the Immodium AD and Kaopectate that I told her I had taken, she said to keep that up if I need to until I call my PCP. Today I'm going to try and stay away from milk products to try and rule out Lactose problems. This really sucks because I never know when it's going to kick in. In the mean time you would thing I would be losing pounds but I'm not. It's hard to eat anything because I'm not really hungry and I'm afraid of the end results. I am keeping my liquids in. Again thank you.
