Sharp Pains????????

It's been a while since I last posted. I hope everyone is doing well! Folks have any of you experienced really sharp abdominal pains before? We had an office party yesterday and I think I ate too much... I started having really sharp pains that I thought were gas pains... but I am still having them today. I'm still hoping that it's just gas... The pain subsides ... but as soon as I put anything in my mouth it comes right back.... I've been taking TUMS and that's helping but do you all have any suggestions? Thanks- Tisha

Tisha, I hope all is well now by now, but if you are still having these pains, truly you should call the docs and let them know right away, in the event it would be some sort of blockage or an ulcer. Not trying to sound the alarms, as it could just simply be gas, but regardless severe abdominal pain is nothing to play around with post-op. In the event it is gas ... did you happen to eat any sugar alcohols at the party? These give me horrid sharp pains for quite a while when I overdo even the slightest little bit. Just a thought. At any rate, if it were me, I wouldn't mess around with any unknown sharp pain in the tummy area. Too much at risk, ya know? And if it turns out to be nothing more than gas, at least it is better to be safe than sorry IMHO. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing? Hugs, Tammy
