clearance appts

I have an appointment with Dr. Wynn in January. I read about people needing certain clearances before they can have surgery. Should I go ahead and schedule an appointment to see a cardiologist and pulmonary specialist?

They had a list of Drs that they gave me for clearance. When I asked if I could go to mine if I already had one established in that field I was told they preferred that I went to the ones on the list for they were experienced in Bariatric patients. Gigee

Mary, I used my own Cardiologist. I did use the rest of the Dr's they suggested. Start making the appointments now if you can. Sometimes it takes months to get in to see them. Try to come the the PMRI support meeting on Saturday at 10AM. Rt 52 & 141. The old Pelleport Hospital. Cost is $5. You can get valuable information at the meetings. You can also meet some of us who post on here and get questions answered from a patients point of view. From my post you know what I look like. Make sure you introduce yourself to me. Elissa
