Oh My Gosh!!!!!
I HAD to post this just to warn people. I ran out of my liquid vitamins and had some Pill form multivitamins in my cabinet. No sugar added pretty good vitamins other than the fact that they are big ol' pills. I checked to see how long it took them to dissolve and they dissolved OK but not great. WELL ...
I decided to crush the pill. I put the powder on a spoon and took a good drink of my water and took the powder on the spoon.
NOW JUST CHANGE THAT COLOR TO GREEN AND YOU HAVE IT!!
I think in like 30 seconds I had a SERIOUS hot flash and OH MY GOODNESS I FELT SOOOOOO SICK! I RAN literally jogged to the bathroom here at work and just hung over the toilet. I didn't think I was going to make it!!!! I felt soooo bad. I started sweating and felt dizzy as all heck! BUT I managed to not throw up! I hickupped a few times and just felt awful. I still feel queasy... So be careful everyone of crushing vitamins and taking them. AND these had NO sugar in them but MAN! UGH! I guess it was just too much!

I'm sorry ... You are just too funny! Your description cracked me up, but it also got me worrying... My husband, in his zeal to protect me, ordered tons of vitamins from Puritan's Pride ... , and I mean LOTS of them (buy one get three free sale). We both thought that that hey, I've got to crush my meds, etc., just put them in applesauce or peanut butter. So I experimented with doing so recently (I'm still pre-op for 2 weeks) Elizabeth ...OMG ...OMG!!! I was cruising Barf City (fortunately didn't stop to puke ...just cruised) A nurse friend of mine told me I should crush THEN use water to turn it into a paste THEN mix with pudding, or applesauce, etc. I haven't tried that yet with a normal stomach. And what's my pouch going to think of all that crap? Now "all that crap" was inclusive of my actual meds not just vitamins/minerals. I'm gonna experiment again this week-end, using my friend's method -minus the meds ...after all I probably won't need my meds much post surgery, right? (Pleeeeeeeeeze tell me I'm right!) Well bye, Elizabeth and thanks for helping me LMAO so late at night. Maxi
Maxi,
I use the liquid vitamins normally and while they are nasty smelling and are strong tasting it goes down quick and it doesnt make me sick. THe liquid vitamin is weird though...after I take it...about 15 minutes later I can SMELL the vitamins in the palms of my hands!!! weird huh? also...I feel a little ... not burning sense in my tummy...but I can definitely feel the liquid vitamin in there. I am going to experiment with chewable vitamins. Gotta check those labels though. BUT CRUSHING! NO WAY!!! MAN! that was the worst! I felt nauseous till about 9:00 at night!!! just queasy! ick. Yeah those meds of yours...hopefully after surgery and after the weight starts commin off you wont need them! I wish you all the best!!! Always happy to make someone smile
